Happy Valentine’s Day all. I’ve never thought this was the most important day ever, but I do love doing crafts and Valentine’s photo shoots with my son.
I have been with my partner for about 7 or 8 years. (How terrible is it that I have no idea how long we’ve been together?)
Before him, I had two other serious relationships. The first in my early 20s that lasted five years. He’s the person I was living with before I moved to South Korea. The other was a three year relationship. I lived with him in Alberta. We broke up when I moved to Saskatoon, and would have stayed friends. He was killed in a car accident later that year. I’ve probably mentioned it in another post. It was a really hard time for me and anybody who knew him.
I’ve dated others and had a few flings as well, but none of them need to be mentioned.
When I was 31, I met my partner. We met through online dating. I’m not ashamed of this. I don’t really know how you meet people now. We met up by the river in Saskatoon in a public place (of course). I had my roommate’s dog for a walk, and he was rollerblading. We chatted for a bit, and then after we went our separate ways, he texted and asked me out.
I had a lot of fun on our first date. We laughed a lot. We got to know each other.
Fast forward 2-3 years, we bought a house together, got a dog together, and then a year later we had a son together. We aren’t married, and probably never will be. We are partners.
There are many things we don’t agree on, and many things we argue about, but we love one another, and we love our son. I can’t imagine having this adventure with anybody but him.
He’s my first Valentine.
My second Valentine is my son. Who I love so damn much. He is the one who melts my heart so many times a day.
I’m keeping this short tonight, so I’m just going to add Valentine’s photos.
